Lunch and Dinner in Hamburg: Streetfood Session on Spielbudenplatz

The best way to spend a sunny afternoon is sitting under the sun with cold drinks and good foods. Which possible alternative is more perfect than visiting some groovy Foodtruckers and eating some ridiculously delicious and on the budget Streetfoods?

I visited the Streetfood Session in St. Pauli, Hamburg. After testing many different foods until my stomach has literally doubled in size, here are my favorites Foodtruckers:

Holy Dogs

The guys from Holy Dogs use organic beef only! The sauces are homemade and the bread rolls are (seriously!) handmade. The “Santa Maria” hot dog filled with Bio-Beef-Roll, mixed salad, avocado creme, tomato salsa and chilli treads has guaranteed my second visit!

Price: A delish hot dog from 4,70 € – worth every penny!

Vegan option: yes

SoQalicious

Burritos are trending in Germany. However, I hadn’t found any really good burritos place here. The SoQualicious has solved the problem: the beef burrito was so good and just as spicy as I wanted it to be!

Price:  Burrito from 7 € / Quesadillas from 4 €

Vegan option: yes

Foodpecker

I love nothing more than a slow-cooked meal. So as I found out that Foodpecker cooks their pulled pork and beef for 15 hours, I immediately ran to them. This mouth-watering sandwich is definitely my kinda comfort food.

Price: from 5,50 for a sandwich

Vegan option: no – but veggie one!

Kayseri Manti

Many people think that turkish kebab are the ultimate turkish food. Not! turkish kebab a.k.a. döner was found by a Berliner. As I came in to the Foodtrucks of Kayseri Manti, I felt the real feel of Turkey: two women preparing a fresh dough for their pide (photos) and laughing while doing it. The dough and the filling taste so fresh and light. You would absolutely be more than happy after eating some!

Price: from 2,80 €, 3,50 for a fresh pide!

Vegan options: yes

Lángos 2 go

My other favourite food from Hungary other than Goulash is surely Lángos. The variation with smoked salmon, sour cream and figs mustard will blow your mind! The dough has just the right consistency and the salmon combination does not taste too fishy. There is also the sweet option!

Price: from 4 €

Vegan options: yes

Venga

It is time for a dessert! I am always surprised, everytime I eat something vegan and do not notice it. The Venga Vegan Crew has successfully made a vegan crepe tastes like heaven. They also offer the savoury ones, too!

Price: From 2,50 €

Vegan options: nothing but
