Many of us think that ice cream comes straight from added chunk and swirls to frozen milk. It is more to it than that; huge and very expensive ice cream machines are used to homogenise the milk, mix the ingredients, freeze them to ice cream, add the chunks and sauce….
In “Eisladen” Hamburg, -the name of the place is actually so simple and straight forward, it means “ice cream parlour”- they use fresh seasonal fruits from the market and organic milk to produce their ice cream. The added caramel sauce is also homemade with love. Oh man, reminiscing my good old time making ice cream, the skin burn and the heat behind the stove, you really need love to make good ice cream and sauces!
Their speciality is Peanut Ice Cream with Caramel. I also tasted the strawberry ice; you can really taste the fresh fruit out of the ice. My friend, who stole the strawberry ice from me (cat fight later), said that it was the best strawberry ice she has ever had!
